The Best Kept Secret by Victoria Kamm

There has been so much conversation about “The Secret” and how any person can change his or her future using a vision of what could be and then never giving up on that vision.

Is there proof? Of course! Entrepreneurs have been doing this since the beginning of time.

The tough part for me has always been finding the time to learn new skills, reach out to other small business owners, keep up with trends. Every entrepreneur has a full if not overflowing plate. Some owners are responsible for everything from dealing with customers to making sure their retail space is clean. Others deal with the full gamut of business operations from employees to sales to finances. Always there’s a time constraint.

I’ve discovered there’s no shortage of other companies ready to take care of my pain. (Accounting software companies, consultants and trade organizations are among the many.) The problem is that usually when one pain goes away a new one comes along and we don’t get much notice.

I’ve learned to rely on the internet. Not enough cash for a much needed GPS? Find a mapping site. Not enough space much less an adequate budget for an assistant? Plenty of virtual ones available online. Not enough time to run out for office supplies? There are a lot of places willing to sell you anything you could possibly need.

But facing the real challenges of understanding my financial reports enough to convince my banker I deserve a line of credit or knowing if Vista© is worth switching my entire computer system or even to get a different perspective on a thorny employee issue has been difficult.

I wanted one place to go that knows owning a business is a lot more than opening the doors every morning. I wanted a place that offered programs available whenever I was. I wanted program hosts who were actually in business themselves. Finally I wanted intensive programs featuring experts and books that would make a difference in my life but may have never had the time to find.

iBusinessChannel is that place. It is a phenomenal location for all the questions and worries I still have after more years in business than I’d like to admit. I wish it had been around when I was a less experienced entrepreneur. I could have saved myself a lot of time, money and sleepless nights.

So, do I believe in The Secret? You bet I do. I just depend on iBusinessChannel to make sure I have all the information I need, whenever I need it, to keep that vision going.
